Between 2 houses we bought 5 carpets. The first one was great then 2 bedrooms were ok though the timekeeping was shocking. Eventually came after several calls at 5.30. fitters were rude and extremely untidy and disrespectful. Not a lot of covid safety going on. Number 4 came and they put the wrong underlay down argued it's what id bought but it was shops fault as the shields shop and Sunderland call the brand's by different names. The carpet was 10 inches short so had to be reordered and underlay also replaced. Tried to say it was our error when in fact they converted it wrong in metres. It was replaced but had a couple clumps if underlay stuck underneath causing a lump so i had to ask them back to remove it. The final carpet was put down and appeared to look nice but later cleaning I noticed they had sprayed glue in my landing carpet and all over the landing door. Beats me why they were gluing when I had grip Rods down and a new door strip. After entering my bathroom later in the day I was shocked and disgusted to see the mess they had left, they had apparently had a glue can explode and didn't think it important to tell me. Either that or thought I wouldn't notice. My white gloss units had glue splashes all over and the toilet was caked inside and out with solid glue. Why they were in the bathroom beats me ! This took some cleaning to remove. The shop does not have a manager to complain to and after showing the assistant the photos I got a verbal apology. Contact from the owner would have been nice but as of yet nothing, considering they wanted no bad press. !! I will never shop here again and suggest you don't either. There is a much better carpet shop not too far from them !

I’ve always used Franks in South Shields, the service has always been exemplary. The fitters are very good excellent workmanship by the Andy and his son. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else for flooring.
I was very happy with my carpet, great service by the salesman in the store and best carpet shop in South Shields.
Very happy with the job completed. Excellent job.
We had the store to ourselves as it is appointments only and there is large selection and excellent service.
