Let me split my experience of Garage Door Solutions into technical and service. First technical – the landlord of our warehouse engaged them to replace a control unit on a roller door, so when it stopped working after 9 months later, I called them. They told me the control unit was fine, the motor needed to be replaced and they would quote. 3 weeks later they tell me the motor is obsolete and they need to fit a brand new door at 5k. I asked an electrician to test the motor, he said it was fine and ran it to show me. Back to GDS who tried again to fix the door and were adamant that the door would need to be replaced as the motor was the problem and obsolete. My electrician has now sourced a suitable control unit, fitted it and I have a working door again, cost 300. Next service – in a word, shocking. I lost count of the number of “no shows” for appointments but we are well into double figures. Never a phone call to say the were not coming, no apologies and the times they did arrive, they did so unannounced. I phone one day and was promised “I am just leaving now” and I am still waiting for him to arrive. Very poor technical ability and service. Stay well clear is my advice. To write a review you have to give at least 1 star, which flatters them.
