I managed to get a ticket to watch The Bartered Bride (sang in Czech) at Garsington last summer. It was the start of the season and everyone enjoyed the acrobatics and village set. Outside, the tents evoked distant lands, perhaps the African savannah? I walked in the walled garden and rode on a vintage bus. Now, I can watch the recording on YouTube, so I think Garsington Opera is a very splendid organisation.
