Iconic and inspiring and embracing reminder of the coal mining and ship building heavy metal industry in in the North of England - the Angel of h North is on a hillside in Gateshead overlooking the A road as you travel to the regions capital Newcastle. Enjoyable to visit, can be spotted from miles away. The wind load strain on this statue means the reinforcements below ground are as deep as the statue is high. A quite incredible and unusual design. Once seen, never forgotten. Good parking and also access for disabled and wheelchair users.

Great place of history to visit. An engineering masterpiece. Lovely to spend time here. If travelling in times of Covid, please make sure you follow guidelines and maintain distance. I really liked the evenings, afternoons here. One of the most liked places by me around Newcastle.

Inspiring and embracing artifact of the mining industry in Gateshead. Enjoyable to visit, can be spotted from miles away. A technical tour de force. The wind load strain on this statue means the reinforcements below are as deep as the statue is high. A quite incredible and unusual design. Once seen, never forgotten. A beauty to behold. Located on a small hillock in Gateshead, the angel was much taller than we anticipated - the wingspan being nearly twice the length. The history and the reason behind the construction of the angel was given in an information board a few meters down the statue. A small shop with food and hot drinks is available right next to the parking space, which has disabled access as well.

Nice place . Really beautiful and worth seeing . What a wonderful way for my partner and I to start our short holiday break by visiting this iconic, magnificent, well sculpted statue. I was blown away by its beauty and the amazing work which has gone into sculpting, building and constructing this statue. This was well worth the visit and would recommend anyone to pull over into the car park and just marvel at this statues magnitude.
