Its a fantastic location it should be promoted more and open 7 days a week. Instead its only open Sat - Sunday. its been getting run down since the computer was damaged and parks dept have not repaired the computer generated program. Its still worth a visit but could be better improved what needs is gift shop and more care from local city council to promote this unique historical site. added couple images let you see.

Amazing preservation of fossilized tree stumps from 350 million years ago when this part of Scotland lay in the southern hemisphere, close to the equator.
I used to love this place and it’s so interesting! I haven’t been in a while as I’ve not had the chance but when it opens again after the New Year.
As a wee boy I used to come here weekly and gawk at the trees... Now as a man living in faraway NZ I wish I could walk there again. Fabulous place.
The place itself is a fantastic attraction for anyone interested in natural sciences.Set in beautiful and interesting scenery of former quarry. The building however is a bit run down and requires renovation.
