Youai Scotland CIC is a a Chinese Volunteers Non-profitable organization that exists to help Chinese students integrate into local communities through participating volunteering work. It aims to improve Chinese students’ life experience during their study in Scotland, help them improve their English skill, understand more about local culture, promote Chines culture to local society and become a knowledgable and experienced culture ambassador in the end of their study time. It will also conduct fundraising activities to support school-aged children in poorer area of China to continue their study and aim to provide volunteering teaching opportunities in future. We hope to build up a standard of Chinese Overseas Students, set up good examples to motivate the whole community to learn more, participate more and return more during their year of study. 1. Voluntary activities - Thrift Shop: Collect second hand goods from mainly Chinese overseas students and resell them for fund. - Happy Chinese Class: Teach Chinese language, promote the culture and discuss the differences. - Food Bank: Alliance with local Chinese restaurants to donate Chinese hot meals to shelters and charity organisations. 2. Other activities: Educational activities: organise workshops about western social skills, English skills, work skills, business skills, etc. Social activities: visit local families, make internationals friends and hang out with people from various backgrounds. Physical activities: play sports games with local sports club. Adventurous activities: organise trips and expeditions to explore Scotland 3. Chinese Overseas Student Award: Based on how much they learned from Voluntary, Educational, Social, Physical and Adventurous activities, we will grant them COS Awards in Gold, Silver and Bronze. They can also be awarded Duke of Edinburgh Awards if they meet the standard.
