Unfortunately both members of staff that served us in the store weren't friendly at all, quite rude to be completely honest. To top off the substandard customer service, the lady serving food in the kitchen wasn't even capable of making my sandwich properly. She just slopped it in the bread like a grumpy old dinner lady which caused it to fall apart and spill absolutely everywhere when I tried to eat it? Such a shame because I do love to support local business but I will not be going back there anytime soon after my experience. Staff in the kitchen were also coughing and handling food WITHOUT wearing a mask or gloves. I'm aware it's not mandatory for workers to wear a mask but if they're coughing and touching the freshly prepared food with their bare hands (probably after they've coughed into them), that's not acceptable! I would not recommend this store, go elsewhere!

I am a local and try to support local businesses, but I have now decided enough is enough. Both my hubby and I smoke and we buy every day 2 packets and have done for over a year along with daily provisions. For the past few months, they have never got the cigarettes that we require, we have both spoken to the staff and owners numerous times and still they do not order them. I will be taking my custom to Seascale from now on, we feel we have given them enough chances but to no avail. Carry on this way, you will not have business in the future.
Great little shop that always amazes me what they sell. An ingredient fur that curry, they'll have it... amazing. Great staff, warm friendly. Just a pity the cafe above has gone. Many of us relied on that place. :-)
Everything you need, very friendly staff. We've been using this store for nearly twenty years and it has been the same good value, practical place all that time.
