Absolute insult...mental health are less then useless, i have tried to commit suicide so many times that they refuse to see me despite being a suicide risk to myself and to others around me, it is no wonder that people who need there help actually commit suicide due to there staff stating that you dont fit there criteria and fail to explain what there criteria is. I am so glad that i am taking them to court over there neglect of care.
Absolutely abysmal Acute services. Only to willing to admit someone under the mental health act but then tne Dr dissapears and becomes unwilling to talk and disscuss the patient. Not one person can give the same answer in respect of the patient's wellbeing and even when theyve been in handover meetings they are inconsistant with what they say. A patient promised release on a tuesday is then delayed to a thirsday and when thursday comes is told it will be a saturday. Staff charge nurse states the patient is like a coiled spring . .is it any wonder?? Then decided the best way to deal with the phone call is to put the phone down . .very grown up but obviohsly learnt from other staff members. I find the whole working of acute services enough to send anyone further round the twist under no circumstances let Dr Ayobu into your home as once he has commited someone to this dreadful service you wont be able to get any info from him .
The resource centre sucks!!! I’ve had 5 different doctors In 6 years. They don’t care at all!! I was told that the medication that has kept me going for 7 years all they tell me is that nope no more even though it helps me. I’m bipolar and I left today feeling like I wanted to walk into oncoming traffic because I need help I a huge way and instead they let you leave feeling like death would be better. Seriously is there any other way to deal with this without feeling alone.
Fed all kinds of medications and then dropped with no aftercare or explanation. Was told I could not see them because I drink alcohol occasionally. Was referred to their drug and alcohol clinic who would not see me because I do not drink enough alcohol. Passed around to every department in the hospital with no one willing to take any duty of care on. Phoned countless times to be told they have no record of me on their system. Turned up for appointments that have been cancelled or not even recorded. Had GP referrals cancelled without justification. Spent years desperately trying to get help from Northgate and all they have done is destroy my faith in mental health support.
