I went during dinner time. There were two people there. The atmosphere is dark. The owner wouldn't honor the special advertised on the sidewalk. I walked in and there were no other customers there. The owner was sitting on a bar stool. When I asked him for a menu, he rummaged around trying to find one. I asked him about the special he had on the sandwich board out at the entrance. He said it was 6 pounds for the special. I told him it said 5 pounds, which it did. He argued with me about what it said. When he wouldn't give me the special at the advertised rate, I left and went to another place for take-away. When I passed by again on my way home, there the owner of the Greek Taverna was, outside changing the price on the sandwich board. I confronted him, I said I was right. He said it is now 6 pounds. I am studying to be a lawyer in the U.S. We have been studying EU consumer protection. This conduct by a shop owner is clearly illegal in the EU. I not only would not trust this guy with my money, but I also would not trust him with my food.

Great food, really cool atmosphere. One of the best restaurants in Bangor. Well worth a visit.

The service here was very friendly, and the food was quite tasty. However, the thing that really makes this place stand out is the atmosphere and the décor. With a covered courtyard and trees growing in the middle of the restaurant, this place does a pretty good job at transporting you from drizzly Bangor to a street café in Greece. Lovely. The only down-side was the fact that it's a little cold, and the seating, cushions etc. felt a little worn and grubby.

On first impression,it reminded me of some of the Greek restaurants I have visited in Greece, and looked inviting, minus the weather. The food was delicious when it arrived, what has let this place down spectacularly was the service,we paid restaurant prices,so therefore expected waiter/ress service. We was not greeted and queued at the bar for what seemed ages due to only 1 person serving, to order from the menu, when it arrived we wasn't asked how was our food, and had to queue again for ages to pay our bill as no one came to check if we wanted anything else, also this is NOT the place for families but people just wanting a drink, they do not cater for children at all which we found out,so don't expect childrens menus, high chairs or any changing facilities! I was extremely disappointed as this was not a cheap place so we payed restaurant prices for service that made even a whetherspoons look upmarket! They should not be advertising as a restaurant if they carnt behave like one, just serve bar snacks and drinks!
