I went to Decathlon in Guildford today to get some new brake pads and mineral oil to bleed my bike brakes. Unfortunately they didnt have any mineral oil in stock. The lady on the cycle maintenance department asked me how much I needed...two minutes later she appeared with a small container of oil that they use in the shop. She said I could have the oil for free. Outstanding customer service. Well done Decathlon.

Had an interview at this place, bitterly disappointed. Very rude, gave nobody a chance to shine in the interview, we had to watch a presentation and then make a spaghetti tower and they somehow based their opinion off of that. Cut people out of the recruitment process halfway through with no 1 to 1 interview or any chance to show our skills for the job. They used the excuse to cut someone out of the recruitment process by saying they chose someone else over them because “the other person was cutting sellotape quickly”. Don’t want to be rude but the recruitment process is awful and felt very hard done by considering everyone else in the interview felt the same way- they were not able to show why they should have the job! Not a good experience at all.

Generally staff are not helpful unless you ask. They lack an open demeanor. They're not proactive is all, although will help if asked. Is the company positively discriminating in favour of French staff ?

I used to love this place until I bought my child a pair of trainers which after a week developed a hole in the upper. They’d be worn once or twice. I took them back, just wanting another pair or similar or credit note to be told that they were tennis shoes and should not be worn for running! I meant to take the matter further but frankly couldn’t be bothered. Their stuff is good value but beware they don’t accept liability on faulty goods, certainly not in my case.
