It’s a real shame that the land the abbey stands on is now privately owned and the owners obviously actively discourage anyone from getting too close. It seems strange that someone can build a home so close to a historical ruin of public interest, but do not allow public to access it. It’s quite unwelcoming.
There’s no abbey. Just a sign saying to keep our. Thanks for getting my hopes up
The abbey is located on private land (check the website). It can be seen by leaving the bridle path or from the northern bridle path 80m away. Be aware I walked up to the buildings by the Abbey to ask to take photos and was confronted by a \gentleman\ wearing full combat fatigues, dark glasses and face covered with a bandanna sporting a shotgun over his shoulder telling me quickly leave what he claimed was his property.
A nice walk to the abbey, which in of itself, isn't much, but interesting to view
