We feel we made a good decision when we selected Heronswood to develop a new house design for us. It has been a pleasant experience to deal with Dan Rontree who has always been straightforward in his approach, giving us good advice when necessary whilst accommodating our ideas when possible. Even under pressure, Heronswood’s team have been patient and good-humoured and always highly professional. We have been impressed with the quality of the work, the problem-solving approach and level of attention to detail. We went to them with an existing concept and they worked with us to make some tricky elements work. Having said that, I would have been equally happy to work with Dan from the beginning, as he has a good aesthetic, quickly understood what we were trying to achieve and made some good suggestions. I would recommend them – and have done so to a number of people.
We recently fulfilled a lifetime’s ambition by building our own home; naturally we were very sceptical having watched numerous TV shows and seen the runaway costs that can be incurred. We contacted HWD on recommendation and I have to say it’s the best bill I’ve ever paid! The most amazing thing is the savings that these guys made, more than covered their costs! We opted for a fully managed service which meant both Kevin and Dan visited our site regularly, they dealt with all planning issues, paperwork, confronted the trades when needed and stood firm on areas they believed were wrong. (Not something we wanted to do!) In summary, what they saved both in terms of time, money and stress, more than paid their fee! No they don’t have swanky offices and corporate brochures but they have decency, ethics and morals. Outstanding service levels that I would highly recommend to anyone. These guys will go far.
