Absolutely loved this place. You have to book in advance but we had Such a good hour of information. Got to look thru the telescope too. The only downside was NO DOGS ALLOWED

On a clear night, this is a fantastic spot to take a guided tour around the night sky. Even on a cloudy night though, the enthusiasm and knowledge of the team make for equally entertaining and informative fun. Great fun!

Smashing. The observatory facilities and staff are great, always very friendly and take their job seriously. The actual observing of the stars and planets is excellently done with top of the range equipment and clear explanations from the various helpers always on hand. The fact that this particular site is classed as 'dark sky discovery' means that you can see the best views in the area. If you are staying at the Battlesteads Hotel, it's well worth going here for a great night of discovery.

Fantastic night. Hosts were knowledgeable and willing to answer even the daftest of questions. Been to a few of these events at a few different places and this was the best.

Had a great night. A welcoming environment that allows for a practical experience of stargazing. Compared to similar experiences this felt less distanced and more active. The night was lead by Roy- a warm, engaging fella who was charismatic and knowledgeable. He was evidently passionate and was ably supported by Larry. The highlight of the night was looking through the telescope at the craters on the moon. I felt revitalised when i left. A gem.
