Outstanding little cottage, tastefully decorated with soft furnishings, which lent itself to a very relaxing bolt hole for 2 days. Superbly equipped all round - lovely bathroom and large and extremely comfortable bed. Arrived on Friday evening to find that Lorraine had lit the wood burning stove so it was extremely inviting when outside was blowing a hoolie! Also, Lorraine had added a really lovely touch by leaving me a bottle of bubbly in an ice bucket as she had remembered that I'd booked the weekend to celebrate a big birthday - thank you so much! Would highly recommend Heavenfield Cottage - we didn't want to leave....

Amazing place, amazing finishing touches. Peaceful and cosy. Perfect for two. The attention to detail is superb. Thank you Lorraone for looking after us so well, we can't wait to come back.

This is by far the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. Fabulous accommodation, with every detail taken care of. Comfortable and stylish cottage with the perfect hosts, who made us feel extremely welcome. We particularly loved being introduced to the newborn lambs, and the warm welcome from the sheepdogs every time we drove up. A real home away from home in a wonderful location. Very, very highly recommended.

Because it was so warm, welcoming and well-equipped, it was an ideal base from which to share Christmas with family and friends from Newcastle to Carlisle and it was a real pleasure to return to each evening,

Just returned from a wonderful 2 night stay here. In hindsight wished we had booked three night. The accommodation is worthy of its 5 stars. The spec is very high and attention to detail is superb. Everything has been thought about. My husband and I were having a break from our hectic normal lives as parents to littleuns. We decided we would make use of the excellent kitchen to cook each other the sort of meals we enjoyed pre kids and at times of the day we used to eat (think late morning brunches and late dining!). There is a plethora of supermarkets not too far a drive into Hexham. The kitchen is so well stocked and well laid out. As the kitchen and lounge area are together it meant we were able to relax listening to Spotify on the smart TV while one cooked and one stoked the log burner. Lorraine and John were very welcoming hosts and have thought of everything any guest might need. There’s a drying/boot/laundry room stocked with towels for wiping down muddy boots and bikes, laundry detergent etc. Plus a basket contains picnic blanket, flasks and cool bag. Binoculars and torches for stargazing, BBQ equipment should the weather be warm enough. The bathroom was very luxurious with a huge double ended tub for post walking soaks and a huge walk in shower for early morning wake ups. Underfloor heating throughout is lovely. The bedroom continues the huge theme with a lovely comfortable bed that was hard to prise yourself out of in the morning. There are some lovely walks near by (and a visit to St Oswald’s Church to read up on some fascinating history) but we also drove 15 minutes to The Sill for a walk to Sycamore gap and Housesteads Roman Fort along Hadrians Wall. All equally fascinating. We will certainly be back as it was the perfect couples break for us. Highly recommend this place.
