A lovely market to visit. Unfortunately I was only passing so had very little time to browse but everything seemed so cheap and all the sellers were very friendly! I recommend the sweet/clothes stall and the homemade pie stall!

The authority has allowed it to become empty. Lack of financial support and enough supportive advertising means; that units that were once profitable , contributed to the sense of community and valued by the community have now left. Footfall has totally gone which takes away any chance of the possibility of at least breaking even. Does the council really want Heywood market, or do they want the plot of land. Feel sorry for remaining stall holders trying to keep it going.

The market is marked out for social distancing. The Wool Stall has hand sanitiser on the counter which everyone is encouraged to use. Every customer wore a facial covering
