I started collecting Wisdens seriously about three years ago, at which time I was a long long way from the collector's goal of obtaining a complete set of Wisdens. Having made a few ad hoc purchases from Chris' Wisden Auction website, we entered into discussion about how he might be able to help me towards that goal. He explained the various purchasing strategies people use and I was able to get a better idea of the potential costs involved. Chris suggested that joining his DD club might be a good step forward and after I had said how much I was happy to pay as a monthly direct debit, we agreed what years (and in what condition) I would be able to obtain during 2016. Towards the end of 2016, having been very happy with the quality of books and service provided, I decided I was prepared to increase my DD for 2017 and once again agreed on what I would get back for that and continue to do so. I would certainly recommend the DD club to any existing or potential Wisden purchaser looking to give their collection a boost, with Chris' all important expert help just a phone call or e-mail away.
