It was definitely worth the uphill drive to this fort, not just to see the remains, but also the view. Worth a visit - and it's free.

Very interesting place, quite large area and enough ruins remaining to give a good idea of what it looked like 2000 years ago. Best visited in summer as it can get quite boggy, the roads are quite steep in places and wouldn't like to drive the route back in the dark! I managed it in a Chrysler grand voyager with mrs and 3 kids throwing it down with rain. Take a change of shoes!
Hardknott pass is just a place of awe.. a great place to visit all year round. Popular with motorbike enthusiasts. Challenging road but very rewarding when you see the views..
This historical place of Mediobogdum Fort fires the imagination of what life would have been like here 1800 years ago. Surrounded by amazing scenery, well worth a visit.
A winding drive up to an interesting historical site and some Beautiful views. We had a lovely walk around with the dog. And the plaques give you just enough info about the fort.
