Due to the review below I very nearly didn't bother with this water.. Thankfully, my better judgement won out and yesterday I spent the day here. I arrived around 9am and oh my lord what a beautiful, beautiful water, absolutely in a little oasis of natural beauty. Spurred on by the fabulous surroundings I kitted up with a team of drys on both rods and decided to just walk the water and cast to whatever moved. I wasnt there long before my ticket was checked which is superb and every member I met that day was well mannered, kind, friendly and above all very knowledgeable and very proud of thier club. I spent my entire day in the company of true gentleman and all of them landed fish. I saw fantastic aerial fights all day with Rainbows and Blues falling to North Country Spiders, Diawl Bachs, and Montana Nymphs ( but fished as nypmh not lure) . I stuck to my dries keen to see what action I could get from the top and after some excellent advice on the evening rise, from the club treasurer, I had a spectacular few hours of action on a Hawthorn Fly landing me 2 pristine condition trout, 1 Blue and 1 Rainbow. Magnificent fighting fish that left the water a good 3 or 4ft several times before I managed to get a net under them. In summary this is a gentlemans fly club and fishing is conducted in a gentlemanly manner as my father taught me and his before him. The members are knowledgeable and very happy to give you their advice and I had some lovely conversations with many of them and they all know their stuff. Casting is simple from the dam wall but the fun really is casting for those wild browns between the trees and angling back casts ect... I shall be working on my rolling cast most definitely. Suberb fishing and the fish are the very highest of quality once gutted and cooked. This is a cant miss water and I shall be visiting again many times to come.

First of all, it's a lovely walk around the res. Unfortunately that's about all you can do. The trees go right to the edge of the water leaving very few places you can get in a good cast. When you do find a nice spot the disturbances are almost constant. From people walking up to you with questions as you are trying to cast, kids splashing about next to you, dog walkers throwing sticks across your cast and horses going for a paddle. Don't forget you pay 15.00 for the pleasure of a days ruined fishing. I definitely will not be coming here again!

Didn't go for the fishing! My wife went with her friend to walk the dogs. What a beautiful place and the dogs loved the walk. Stunning scenery, will definitely go again

A good reasonable price for a day's fishing.
