AVOID THIS COMPANY! Despite being assured it was sound, the trailer I purchased from them in February has a number of issues:- Rotten Floor - Their definition of a “new floor” seems to be to screw a few sheets of plywood over the top of the original rotten floor and to put a few coach screws through from underneath to stop the rotten timbers from dragging on the road. That’s not a new floor, that’s a bodge job. I’ve had to rip the whole lot out and start again. Dangerous Tyres - All are badly cracked and need replacing Faulty Electrics - Going to need rewiring, fortunately that’s a bit easier now I’ve had to take the entire floor out! Leaking Roof Faulty tow hitch Bent jockey wheel - was promised a replacement which didn’t happen Poor quality paint job - Needs another coat in places, starting to crack in some areas and there’s already spots of rust starting to show through after 2 months. Initially Mick was helpful and offered to cover the cost of putting it right, then changed his mind and said I’d have to return it to him to fix as he hadn’t got the money! Told him I wasn’t prepared to tow an unroadworthy trailer 90 miles on the motorway back to Hull and since then messages go unanswered and I’m no closer to getting this resolved. I appreciate that the trailer is 40 years old, so wasn’t expecting it to be perfect, however I had expected it to be roadworthy, solid and to have been prepared with a reasonable degree of skill which unfortunately isn’t the case. I’m now left with a lot of work and expense to get the trailer into the condition that Thompson Catering Trailers assured me it was in when I purchased it.
