A terrible bookshop. I ordered a book on 22nd January. Was reported, almost immediately, as shipped. By Feb 3rd I gave up waiting for it. Ordered it elsewhere. Never heard again from R J Caffrey. Was never even offered a refund ... !! Avoid this mistake for a bookseller.

This is a wonderful place to browse. Contains thousands of books on History, Classical Civilisation, Philosophy, Theology, Art, Cookery and Biography as well as novels and poetry. Rare and collector's items also on the shelves. Ron (the proprietor) is very helpful and a real bibliophile; he will find a book for you on request.
How refreshing to find a second hand book shop with such a wide and deep selection, and in Kintbury. I can spend hours browsing, and Ron is on hand to point you in the right direction for specific genres... helpful as there are piles and piles of books in a somewhat charmingly rough and ready layout. Fantastic Greek and poetry sections.
