We managed to stay at the Carnell Garden House before further lockdown restrictions were introduced, and although the weather was a bit rough - we had an absolutely amazing time! The house itsself it amazing, plenty of room for all of our party. We had children and dogs with us too, and there wasnt a moment where they were bored or had nothing to do! The garden is great, 2 acres of private walled in garden to allow dogs and children to play outside securely, whilst the adults can relax without worrying. There were plenty of games, games consoles and TVs for when the weather got a little bit rough. The grounds are great for walks too, plenty of places to explore - and it is all very well kept. Location for us was perfect, secluded and relaxed, but only a 10 minute drive to all the amenities you could require. And only a 20 minute drive to the beach (highly recommend Ayr beach if you have kids - they have the best playground I have ever seen! Adrienne, the host, was amazing - she couldn't have done more to make our stay perfect! When we arrived, the house was warm and cozy, and stocked with some essentials needed after our drive from Manchester (milk, coffee, tea, sugar, butter, eggs, bread, ice cream for the kids... etc...). I don't usually like to stay in the same place when having a break/holiday, but I would want to return here in a heartbeat.... Already looking at dates to return in the summer. I would highly recommend the Garden House - you won't be dissapointed!

A fabulous experience. Mickey (estate owner) was the consummate host. The space is simply marvellous, you'll feel as if you've gone back in time. The bedrooms are warm, cozy and have an individual look and feel.
Best for relaxation. .and the beach is only 25 minutes away.

Not signposted very well and there seems to be an overpopulation of grouse. Needs a good clean inside.
