A paper with sadly no teeth. In the world of modern media a newspaper needs to differentiate itself to survive, even if it needs to reinvent itself, the Evening Star has not managed this and is destined for extinction. From the decreasing circulation numbers it is evident that it is misinformed about its readership and audience this doesn't bode well for a newspaper whose customers expect to be informed, it should be the grit in the oyster. I do wonder what influence both Ipswich and Suffolk Council politics have over the paper, and also local dignatories, if none then, let's see some articles which will help shape local opinions instead of the bland stories they produce, and help turn the Ipswich area into a pearl even if this means exposing some weak links within the community! I guess good reporters and editors head to London, this may explain why no cutting edge articles are produced....our local paper should blaze a trail, and help create legacy, as Hearst did, he did not become successful pandering to anyone let alone Civil Servants. It should be the voice of the people for the people!

Actually I am the husband of the named account owner My interest with your paper is somewhat of a personal nature. You see, back in the 1940s I communicated with your resident Miss Betty Danes of 4 Dombey Rd We were both \pen pals\ communicating from sister city, Ipswich, Massachusets. I was reminiscing about youth and remembered my communication With Betty Danes and would like to say I still remember her, hope She is well and happy and we are both in our 80's and I would like to say I enjoyed our \pen pal\ days. I am married, 4 children retired for past 28 years now living in Pensacola Florida If she is still alive I wish her well If you would mind putting this in your paper I would be pleased to know That she liked being remember. A local paper that invites public views and opinions.. however, unfortunately the Ipswich Star does not embrace freedom of speech no matter how eloquent the syntax.
