The History of Island Sports Trust. The Island Sports Trust is a voluntary organisation founded in 1996, with the aim to provide a service which is responsive to local needs and accessible to all groups and individuals in the Community. Who we are.. The Island Sports Trust is a charitable organisation based at George Green’s School. It has a board of trustees, a manager, a co-ordinator and ten part-time workers. Together they are responsible for managing and facilitating Community use of the School’s sports facilities and for much of the Sports Development work that takes place in and around the School. It also provides excellent leisure and learning opportunities that may lead to personal and social development. The Future... The future of the Island Sport Trust is to continue to deliver and develop opportunities for the community in the area of sport and leisure, to enhance and improve the quality of life for the people living and working in Tower Hamlets.
