Been using this Chinese for years.. Last 3 deliveries have been 2 hours when told they would be within the hour.. Won't be using again.

I Review every order restaurant and takeaway Never had one fault with these other than a slight mishap with been sent gravy instead of curry however they sent curry out within 15 minutes of ringing up food was absolutely gorgeous my partner is a very picky when he comes to takeaways and could not fault one bit about the food 5 star from of defently order and more often

Well I don’t know about the name because it is far from delicious, I ordered sweet and sour chicken but stopped the sauce for a tub of gravy and spare ribs in barbecue sauce , the whole thing was awful , chicken had batter that was all thick and mushy inside and absolutely no taste at all , the gravy even looks suspect a dark brown colour but looked grainy , and the sauce in the ribs looked the same but it was a dark red ?.. that asks the questions as to was it just reheated from earlier and was the sauces the same stuff with a bit more added for the ribs ?.????. Either way it went in the bin, only reason I went is because happy garden was closed On a Tuesday so I would skip using here and wait a day and go around the corner to a really good Chinese , don’t know what has happened to delicious city it is not the same as it was when the previous people had it , don’t think I will use it again coz the whole meal was 17 it’s not worth the money and they will lose a lot more if they can’t improve the meals ,and the competition around Jarrow and hebburn is quite big there are a number of different Chinese places that can be used
Ordered at roughly 6.55pm and the countdown on the website said 15 minutes to collect. Went down for 7.10pm and was told it wouldn't be long. By 7.40pm I was still standing there since they asked me if every order that came out of the kitchen was mine. I asked how long it would be and refused to accept ot long\ as an answer. I was told 5 min and 10 min later I finally had my food. I was given \complimentary\ prawn crackers despite having spent over 16 in which case the menu states they come free anyway. Someone who I can only assume was the owner and told me it was because I ordered via the website and they don't check the orders there as much. Surely if you have an online ordering service and customers struggle to get through on the phones you are obviously going to get online orders?! I understand it was Saturday night but if they said 50 min for collection I would have stayed in the house for 50 min and wouldn't have been sat in the shop for 35 min watching everyone else get their food. The only saving grace was that the food wasn't bad. Ordered \2 meat honey and chilli\ so I got king prawn and chicken and I was expecting more than two prawns in the meal. The food outweighed the service ten fold.
