I highly recommend Jeff to anyone looking for an experienced and versatile guitar tutor. I’ve been having lessons with Jeff since June. Being an older student, I was extremely nervous about starting an instrument from scratch again! However, Jeff provides a warm and welcoming environment, in which you feel comfortable to progress at your own speed. Jeff accommodates to the individual so you are able to learn by playing music you enjoy. Lessons are structured to enable you to build on achievements from the previous lesson, giving you the confidence to develop further technique. I also like that you can choose the Lesson Length, lesson frequency and which guitar you would like to learn . At the moment I am learning the acoustic and bass guitar. I cannot recommend Jeff highly enough. Great results, great value and very enjoyable.

I started having lessons with Jeff when I was 14 and continued for a number of years. Jeff is an unbelievably talented musician, and can play a wide range of guitar styles. Jeff possesses a technical mastery of the electric guitar that rivals some of the greatest guitarists. I swapped from electric guitar to classical and Jeff got me from absolute beginner to Grade 8 in a very short space of time. He has an exceptional knowledge of music theory and he was able to get me to grade 5 theory quickly. The lessons were always relaxed and friendly and I remember them fondly. Jeff is also a fantastic songwriter who has gained commercial success with a number of bands. I would highly recommend Jeff to anyone who is looking for lessons.
“I took private lessons with Jeff at the age of fourteen, after struggling to teach myself for a year. My lessons with Jeff sent me on a musical journey that gave me the confidence to start my first band at a very young age. Jeff taught me many valuable techniques and skills that I still use to this day, in my career as a professional touring guitarist.” Bobby Harrison - UK session musician, currently playing lead guitar for Sir Cliff Richard.
They say ‘You can’t teach and old dog new tricks’, well Jeff can! I’m in my mid fifties’ and have always wanted to play the guitar. I even still had an old electric guitar in the loft from 30 years ago that I never got any further than strumming three basic chords on. After meeting with Jeff for my first lessons it took no time at all to realise that not only is he a great guy, but he’s a great teacher too. His way of passing on his vast knowledge is second to none. With him working out the best ways to train me at styles and at a pace that suited. This has been keeping my interest high and my enthusiasm growing. Jeff, thanks for what you have taught me so far and for what you have planned for our future sessions.
A phenomenal musician and educator. I first began lessons with Jeff as a teenager and had weekly lessons for five years. Immediately from my first lesson it was clear that Jeff was a highly skilled instrumentalist & composer who could consistently deliver very well rounded, structured lessons that taught me all aspects of how the instrument worked in different genres and musical settings. Jeff possess a very deep understanding of how music works both theoretically and in practice and can demonstrate with ease the best ways of communicating this knowledge to the student. I found this incredibly beneficial as a beginner and progressed rapidly as a result. Whatever I wanted to study, Jeff was always able to tailor his lessons specifically to achieve my target with great resources & ideas to keep me constantly developing as a musician. Following my lessons with Jeff I studied A-Level Music & then progressed to university to complete a degree in Music Performance. Since graduating I’ve worked as a full time as a professional musician, teacher & recording session musician for the last 8 years. I can honestly say that none of that would have been possible without those first five inspirational years of studying guitar with Jeff. If you’re looking for lessons with someone who is highly adept at performing, transcribing, music theory, advance techniques, sight-reading, improvising, playing in multiple genres etc but above all an exceptionally nice guy then look no further. Jeff taught me in my latter teenage years at secondary school. I made the decision to begin on the path to be a professional guitarist and with the help and guidance of Jeff he allowed me to pursue my interest in technique, musicality and performance. Explaining everything in an easy to understand way but without skipping any detail he helped me improve more in one year than I had in 3 previously. His experience and musicianship is unparalleled and by applying his teaching into my playing my musical confidence came on leaps and bounds. I now play guitar full time professionally in touring theatre shows as well as creating video demonstrations for amp and guitar companies and Jeff was a huge part in making that happen. Don't hesitate to sign up for lessons! Thanks Jeff! Alex Ward, Professional Guitarist.
Jeff is an incredible musician and a natural expert when it comes to teaching. I studied with Jeff on a weekly basis for 3 years and I would highly recommend his lessons to anyone. His fresh and effective teaching methods helped me to progress very quickly and go on to secure a place on the degree programme at the guitar institute. Jeff’s charismatic, fun and positive approach made lessons a highlight of the week! An inspirational guy and a wise guitar wizard!
This guy is a legend to me. I Started learning guitar at secondary school and Jeff was the resident guitar teacher at the time. He took the time to get to know me, as a person as well as a guitar player which in turn improved how quickly I started to become proficient with the instrument. Anything I ask him to play he could play it, if I wanted to learn he would teach me it, hard or easy as long as I was willing to put in the time Jeff had the tools to take me there. I would recommend him to anyone wanting the learn guitar. I studied it at GCSE/A-level went onto University with my playing as well a few bands. I don't play publicly that much now but I know I can play anything with a little practise because of the way I have been taught. Cheers Jeff. Martin
