Cool little abbey just an hour's drive south of Edinburgh. Lots of other little gems in the area to see, so definitely worth the drive! Very dog friendly as well :)
Stunning, a must see. While the sun is low and shines its ray's through the beams and what was windows, magical. Some great History. Recommend the audio machines gives you a great insight.
Amazing history and such a scenic place to visit. I definite must
Fantastic visit Matt from national Scotland tourist guide was very welcoming and friendly with a wealth of knowledge which helped give the abbey a true feel of what it would have been like all those years ago well worth the visit and would recommend the guided tour as there is so much hidden history that you would miss otherwise we'll done Matt you are a credit to historical Scotland.
Jedburgh Abbey, a ruined Augustinian abbey which was founded in the 12th century, is situated in the town of Jedburgh, in the Scottish Borders 10 miles (16 km) north of the border with England at Carter Bar.
Very well preserved Abbey. Audio guides very informative. A lovely way to spend 1-2 hrs. Tea rooms nearby and free carpark.
Beautiful ground to explore and the Abbey so rich with history
