we dropped in by chance one afternoon. The guy at the counter said 'you won't regret it' .. and we didn't! a great team of people with a really interesting story to tell of life on the loch many years ago. 100% recommend!

Absolutely superb and well worth the entry fee. It was wonderful to hear the stories and understanding of the archaeologists, scientists and apprentices who all work on this project. Sitting inside the crannog was amazing and also to hear about textile production and cooking in the Iron Age. Two hours of a tour well worth spending - the organisers are to be congratulated.

Absolutely loved our visit today the strange shape of the building pulled us in but discovered a small self sufficient village behind it all. All staff are very knowledgeable and have so much enthusiasm. Thanks to you all Will is very talented building the instruments and learning how to play them. Were spreading the word how fab it is and we will be back to see the new builds!

Staff were very dedicted and informative. Our tour ran well over the suggested allotted time which was good. Puppet show was good, despite local workmen timing their drilling a hole in the road some 6 metres away. Staff adapted with a good sense of humour and adapted the script accordingly. Hope to go back when they move to a planned larger site on the other side of Loch Tay.

Having been before I love the Crannog Centre. The fascinating history and how new details that are still uncovered is inspiring. A great visit on the banks of Loch Tay

Excellent venue. Staff were lovely. I have two children aged 10 and 3 and both enjoyed their visit. The house is cozy and a perfect venue to hear about Neolithic life in the Highlands. Not quite the wild place the Romans would have you believe. The staff are focused on helping the local youth learn skills and qualifications which is refreshing. Many similar places are staffed by retirees so it’s good to see the venue being used as an asset for training. A great atmosphere and somewhere I would like to return to. Staff bring their dogs along so be aware there will be dogs around which may be an unexpected issue for some visitors.

I love coming here! And it has expanded from the last time I was here. Lots of hands on crafts to be shown and get involved with and the tour/introduction to the Crannog all sat around the fire is lovely. We need more places like this in Scotland! Highlighly recommend stopping by here for some great Scottish history.

Run by people who are clearly passionate about archaeology and who bring the past to life in an engaging, informal and entertaining way. The centre provides a fascinating glimpse into iron age life in central Scotland with the crannog itself, the attached museum and various workshops demonstrating the crafts and cuisine of the age. Kids and adults alike were in hysterics watching the puppet show. Well done all.
