I used to ride myself a long time ago. My children have just started riding at Greenacres. It’s a small stable with about 10 horses. The horses are in good shape, and well looked after. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. They are calm and patient with children and give good instructions to beginners. The owner is a nice person who stands up for herself, her horses and her staff. Typical old school horse person. If you’re not a horse person and used to getting your own way at all times I can see how you could get on her wrong side. If you behave in a friendly, considerate and not entitled manner I doubt you’ll have a problem. It’s less busy on weekdays than weekends.

Great setting. Knowledgeable tutors. Reasonably priced. Well cared for horses. Have been going for years. Indoor and outdoor riding. X country. Highly recommend if you want to learn to ride.

A lovely place to ride. A friendly yard with excellent facilities and good tuition. My children adore it at Greenacres and are coming on really well with their riding there.

The older woman’s overlooking that centre attitude was inappropriate and aggressive. I went there few times, it was difficult to book any lessons. I had an impression I wasn’t welcome. Teacher Rita and horses were absolutely amazing hence I continued coming until the older woman told me to go somewhere else when i asked about why is it so difficult to book us in. She wouldn’t let me speak and started shouting at me in the front of my 7 year old son. We both left quite distressed. There was another guy around us who apologised for her behaviour, putting it down to stress.
