Off the beaten track but near to Watendlath. Beautifully wild.

Dock Tarn at 407m elevation, nestles to the east of Great Crag and High Crag. It's surrounded by heather and bracken and has it's own tiny rowan tree clad island. It's accessed from Watendlath or by the steeper path from Stonethwaite through woodland at Lingy End. It's a most pleasant place and has a tranquility all its own, a beautiful spot especially at sunset in July.
It's a little bogey going round it but there are several flat and dry spots at ether end that you can camp on.
