I noticed the intricate pop-up cards in the window, and being an admirer of Japanese art and craft, popped into this shop. It seemed like an enchanted world of beautiful things. The clothes are very special.

A fascinating shop specialising in the sale of Japanese kimono, as the name suggests. A little off the beaten track the store has a large stock of garments to suit most tastes and depth of pockets. They also have a number of Chinese theatrical costumes. Some are used others New, but all beautiful. The owner is both helpful and knowledgeable on subject of both these and other Japanese art forms.

Bought some classic Koi fish streamers from here, and the shop is gorgeous., more like a shop found in Notting Hill or Pimlico than out of London... The carp streamers cope with the Westerly winds well, and being made of shimmery synthetic fabric really last well in the blustery rain, too with no fading. I bring them in in Winter. The Antique clothing and accessories are gorgeous too.

Amazing place filled with the most beautiful silk antique kimonos - not cheap but given the age and quality of the items - not expensive either. Really helpful assistant who made me feel really welcome - hidden gem of Bristol located near to excellent craft ceramics and craft beer - wonderful!

Best for kimonos and things Japanese this side of Tokyo. You will not be disappointed unless you are looking for sake. Serious quality at reasonable prices.

Seriously wonderful emporium stocking vintage but very affordable kimonos, yukatas etc. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable owner will talk you through any questions you may have. The stock is ever changing and always a delight to browse through. Just bought a Yukata for a 50th birthday boy. Plus a belt. And a card. There are many additional gifts, from fans and incense to original tea sets and hair combs.
