Opened in 1828, this is a grade II protected bridge. Extended several times in it's life originally it was to be an iron bridge. If you pass under it, you can see where it was widened.

I understand that I come to Kingston when the bus is on this bridge while travelling from Heathrow airport. I guess every Kingston local feels the same, if you think Kingston is home!

They put fluorescent lights projections on this bridge which happens at night. It turns the bridge into a magical spectacle at night well worth taking a night photo of, which is tricky, but worth a shot. Perhaps bring a tripod for it if you are into photography. Either way, don't miss out on the chance to see this bridge at night.
