I have a number of Global and other knives that over the years had become dull and rusty. No matter what I tried I could not get them back to any decent level of sharpness. I tried whetstones. Steels, pull throughs, electronic and ceramic wheels but none worked for me. I read reviews of Blade and Butler so thought I’d give them a try. I’m so glad I did... Order in was easy and the box for my knives arrived within a couple of days. As it was a weekend there was no rush. The instructions were fairly easy to follow. Then placed in the supplied transit box, sealed and labelled. Finding a Hermes drop off point was easy enough although their (Hermes) policy states that carriage of knives isn’t permitted. (I ignored that bit as I assumed Blade and Butler have some sort of agreement with them) 3 working days later, my knives were returned to me. Sharp as I ever remember them and a joy to use. 5 knives in total. Yes I will definitely use them again.

My global knives needed a bit of renewing. Blade and Butler did the job to perfection. They came back in time and as new, very happy! Well worth the money!

I entrusted this company with 3 very rare Japanese knives, one hand made for me in Osaka in 1978 and 2 others which are 80 years old. Being Japanese knives they had only one edge sharpened, the other side being totally flat. One knife was sharpened correctly, the 2 old knives have been ruined because the flat edges have been filed down to provide a v shaped edge thereby ruining the knives. Be very careful if you are going to use the company, I certainly will never use them again.

One of my main positives and strengths, is that I ,am piss poor at sharpening knives. Knowing this, and keeping well clear of any whetstones in the immediate area, a knife sharpening service was required. A good search online came back with one company that could do it all, Blade & Butler. I was very impressed with the website layout, very easy to navigate and also very easy to make my order. Knives came back well packaged and secured. No damage to the knives on opening them up, although removing the remnants of the stickers on the knives proved difficult. Knives are razor sharp, can see that they have been professionally looked after. Knives will be going back in a years time for a re-sharpen, so glad I found this company.

Well thought through. Excellent results. Would definitely recommend to those with knives that need specialist attention. My trusty set of Globals are the best part of fifteen years old but are still going strong. Blade and Butler took very good care of them.

Wusthof knives were returned sharp but certainly not as sharp as new, I do understand that is not always possible but the finish wasn’t as good as I have seen from other sharpeners. Do read the small print before you decide your shipping option, if your knives are worth more than 20 then you will not be insured by the standard option - Hermes lost my collection, thankfully found a week later. Butler and Blade were good about returning them however I couldn’t get hold of them by phone despite trying a number of times, they were responsive by email tho. Overall, online knife sharpening is not for me after this experience.
