Stunning place!!! First off all, it's not close from main road - 6 miles walk by shutter road . But being honest, I was worth it to spend all those burned calories. Place is in really good condition, plus fire place working perfect,doors can be locked for the night. Before going there, You need to call park rangers and ask them about it, just for information about hunting seasons etc.

April could be the best time to visit, you get a touch of snow on the tops inland, wild geese are skeining, there's gaels blowin up the glen, fresh edge to late afternoon, not many folk around, no tics...and the fire really does have to be lit and the lagavulin poured. Magical place with red deer and ravens and if you're lucky, a white tailed eagle. Solid wee bothy right by the lochside. Early morn porridge brekky then a two hour trek to Glencoul, round the heathery headland. Great family history written down in this bothy, lived in until the 1950s. Tidal lochs, so seals and that far away atmosphere, jouneying over the Atlantic
As bothies go, this is very accessible and well kept. We biked up from Kylestrome on the recommendation of a friend. Beautiful spot.
