A wonderfully cosy, warm and cute bothy. Nicely hidden away in the Scottish wilderness to escape from the world. We made a detour from the NC500 Route to stop overnight at this wonderful place, and it was definetly worth it! Well done MBA!!!

Stayed here for a night in October 1976. A group of 6 of us on an outward bound course at The John Ridgway School of Adventure at Ardmore. We had been walking through driving rain and wind that night and the bothy was a welcome sight to get out of the weather. There was dry wood and we were able to light a fire, get warm and dry off our clothes. Thank you Mountain Bothies Association.
not your average walk to Sandwood but we loved the approach from the strathan bothy down river to Sandwood. bothy is a gem..
Clean but a little bit sterile.
Can't ask for a better place to encounter heilan coos!
