Lovely place to got for a walk. It costs 5 to get into the car park, but from there you can access the grounds and cafe etc. The walks through the woods are very nice but you're either side of a gorge so there's lots of up and down hills, with steps too. Theres a waterfall and places for kids to play, plus a good few places to eat your packed lunches. It does get busy though so go early if you want peace.

The first time I ever visited this place was on a school trip. I fell in love with the place and have been a visitor here many, many times since. Now when I visit here I bring my wife and son who both love this place as well. Its great wandering around the secret forest. The food from the cafe is good and there is always plenty to do. Without realising it you have spent 2-3 hours or more just enjoying everything around you. After a day out here the kids will sleep all night, and so do we haha

What an amazing place for walks. I didnt go into the castle as it was closed. But the area is so interesting and well worth a visit. Great for children.

This is brilliant for little and big explorers. If you enjoy the outdoors this is a great adventure, even in wet weather. Take waterproofs and wellies. With play parks, lots of outdoor seating for picnics, bridges, tunnels, mazes, stepping stones, castles, hiding places, little houses, a little cave, waterfalls the lot. It even has chickens, goats and guinea pigs. Theres also a cafe, toilets and soft play. Don't forget to walk up to the colourful castle and grounds. We love it even when the boys fell in the river and got soaked.

Great value for money and a great day out. Plenty to keep the kids entertained and nice walks too.

Good place to explore. Good walks around the estate grounds up and down the river. The castle is worth a view with its murals. There is a courtyard with cafe, pet corner and gift shop, and toilet block. There is a central covered eating area within the courtyard. There is a secret forest which costs 3 per person, but didn’t visit this due to time- it closes slightly earlier. There is a wooden play fort for kids and an indoor play barn. Car parking on site costs 5.

These grounds are STUNNING. The website doesn’t do it justice. I didn’t realise there was so much of the forest you could explore in the grounds and taking the walks by the stream was just amazing. We thought the secret garden might just be for kids but so glad we paid to get in, it’s so much fun and we loved exploring!

Thought it was an absolutely brilliant day out and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it!! Last here about 29 years ago and hopefully.mu kinds will have as fond memories as I had. Great value. 5 for the car and 3 each for the secret forest, which was an absolute laugh for adults and kids alike! Great play areas, animals, walks and a cracking waterfall, what's not to like?
