Dear Lord, Why did you make this shop so good?? My wife Joanne would take up residence here. She has all her paints, for a special type of \art fashion\ work she produces, with paints and cloth materials supplied by these lovely people. She has had countless, end of season and end of line and discontinued, material sample books and small tins of paints also supplied. It is absolutely staggering what my wife makes from these samples. She is a seamstress and she recently made the most incredible, colourful quilt for the birth of our Great granddaughter, and all from bits and pieces of exceptionally expensive material samples, and remarkable 50p tins of paint. Allens service is unquestionably THE BEST. My wife and I have either lived in, or visited, at least 54 countries in our almost 70 years of life, and we have visited MANY SHOPS/STORES similar to Allens, throughout the world, and, apart from the amazing colourful silks we have watched being made, right before our eyes and watching the silk worm producing the silk, to the finished product of millions of yards/miles of completed multi coloured silks, ALLENS AND THEIR INVALUABLE STAFF, COME TOP OF OUR LIST FOR JOYFUL SPEEDY PERSONAL SERVICE, HELPFULNESS, QUALITY of PRODUCT & PRICE. They do have many other important attributes, too many to place here, suffice to say that ALLENS have all the bases covered. A huge thank you to Allens and ALL their staff. Both a paint and furniture shop but paint only at moment due to Covid. Staff very helpful and pleasent.
Great shop, great products, great staff.
I have visited the furniture side quite a few times recently and the people were so helpful and friendly but not pushy or in your face and the same applies to those in the paint/paper side of the shop.
