Our key worker engineers from NWCS stayed here while working in the area and it was fantastic. Dod Mill provided them with everything they needed, was spotless and overall just a lovely place to stay. Ruth and Jamie were also extremely helpful. Will 100% use Dod Mill again.

Dod Mill stilt house was just magical. Complete escape from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. Decor is lovely, fireplace and firepit was the highlight. We had a lovely meal at Firebrick in Lauder. Sad to go home. Can't wait to go back. The owners were so helpful and kind, excellent service.

We have just got back from a lovely weekend here. We stayed in the bothy, which was absolutely stunning. Beautiful modern interior but super cosy at the same time. So much attention to detail everything was luxury from the bed sheets, towels to the hand soap! So many lovely walks near by and Edinburgh not too far away, but if you’re looking for a cosy weekend in it had a smart TV so you could snuggle up in front of the log burner and watch your favourite films. It had everything you needed, I brought my own cooking trays etc but it was kitted out with literally everything you needed! Ruth was so lovely, she had the fire lit for us so it was nice and warm after a 5 hour car journey. I can’t recommend it enough I can’t wait to stay again.

We stayed in the Old Mill. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Perfect retreat for two, with lovely bedlinen, comfortable bed and stylish decor. Everything was to a very high standard of cleanliness and comfort, with luxury touches dotted around, and there were plenty of kitchen utensils if you wanted to stay in and cook. We went for lunch at the Fireside Brasserie in Lauder and it was very good. Other than that, we relaxed in the Old Mill, explored the grounds, did some local walks and visited the border towns. Will definitely stay again.

Wonderful property for a staycation in the Scottish Borders, Ruth and Jamie were perfect hosts, there if and when you needed them but not intrusive. Lovely accommodation, and stunning grounds to explore, the friendly sheep next to The Bothy were a delight. Location wise it’s not really within walking distance to anywhere but only a few minutes by car into Lauder and easy striking distance to all the wonderful border market towns with great local shops and beautiful walks.
