As a competitive short track speed skater, since the 60s, I have been plagued with persistent and debilitating lower back pain for the last 15 years, which the doctors put down to my sport, and my age. When I was in my mid fifties, one of my doctors suggested it was about time that I put my slippers on and sat in front of the fire, instead of skating! In my mid sixties, my feet became painful and swollen, and I could barely fit my skates on. The doctors did an ultrasound, blood tests, etc, and told me that there was nothing wrong with them, even though they were markedly swollen! With both my back and my feet so bad, I could barely train on the ice. I had numerous visits to Physiotherapists, etc, and got nowhere at all.
Finally (at aged 67) a friend suggested Jonathan and Richard of the LEEDS BACK AND FOOT PAIN CENTRE, as they had worked wonders for him. Jonathan looked at my feet, then asked me to roll my trousers up, so he could see my legs. Within about 20 seconds he told me what was wrong, and that as a result, he said I had not only painful feet, but also very bad lower back pain, tight Achilles tendons and calf muscles, and he was 100% correct, before I had even told him about my back and tendons! My lower leg bones are visibly curved, and this has caused all the problems, as my skeleton was twisted out of place, my shoulders and hips completely misaligned. No doctor ever even looked at my legs, and if they had, I would have been sorted years ago. Jonathan on the initial visit straightened up my skeletal alignment, but told me it would go out again without custom orthotics to keep my alignment. My orthotics now keep my skeleton aligned mechanically, and between Jonathan with the work on my feet and Richard loosening up my glued up vertebra, they have sorted all the problems I mention above. Highly recommended, great value for money. :)
