This was my first visit to Kayal but will not be my last! Kayal serves Southern Indian style food which different from the more traditional 'British' Indian restaurants and it is very delicious to say the least. I'm not an expert but the dishes I had (selected by a more experienced diner) were excellent. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and a air of sophistication and the staff are very professional and will guide first time diners through the dishes if required. Be aware this is a city center location, so the restaurant does not have a car park, but there are a number nearby. If you fancy a traditional 'Chicken Tikka Massala' this may not be the place to go, but for a tasty new spin on the Indian experience Kayal is highly recommended. I was told there is a very good value 'businessman's lunch' available. For dinner it is a little more expensive but the quality of the food and overall experience means this is still good value for money.

One of my absolute favorites. Kayak, and their sister restaurant herb, are two of the best restaurants in Leicester. Great atmosphere, delicious food every time.
Really nice, clean place and well decorated. I fund the staff incredibly polite and helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.
This place is amazing! we used to visit all the time when we lived in Leicester but since moving to Loughborough we haven't been, but that all changed on saturday :-) we went for a meal after a shopping trip and it was better than ever. Staff were 10/10 and so was the food.
Came here for Saturday lunch which was not too crowded. Restaurant has a good variety of food options on the menu. Food portions are big so best to share dishes. Starters were very tasty but the mains were a bit disappointing as the beef chops were a bit too chewy. Otherwise staff were nice and helpful. Wouldn't mind giving the place another go when in Leicester. Restaurant is well decorated and spacious so don't feel crammed in.
