Simply fantastic place and so helpful. Business the old fashioned proper way. Credit where it's due.

Excellent service from Steve who went well beyond the norm to help us with locating a print and then framing it for us. What I would call good old-fashioned customer-focused service!! Rather rare today but so good to see it alive and well in Maynard and Bradley!! Thanks also to the staff that managed a slightly covert Covid entry to the store to collect the item.

Likes to INSIST on charging 50p to use a debit card, despite this now being against the law. Needs to informed of this by the local trading standards. I will be contacting them in due course. Answer to your reply. Item was a Bradshaw book. Cost 10. Your ticket inside the cover was 9.95, to which you rounded up to the original real price of 10. You then added on another 50p for the bank. I live in Northampton. Did not realize this charge was wrong until I got back home. Not practical to make a 60 mile round trip to talk to you. And yes you are right, if it had been 5p I wouldn't have bothered with the review, but 50p. Passing on reasonable charges for the bank process came into affect in 2013, but had to be applied to both cash and card payments equally. However as of January 13, 2018, the Payment Services Directive (PSD2) was introduced to stop all credit and debit card charges. You can still set a minimum transaction fee to pay by card, but you can no longer pass on your fees. I was not aware of this, but it was pointed out by my husband

Every town should have a bookshop like this one. Interesting stock and I found some beautiful editions for my collection. Easy to strike a bargain
