We were a bit disappointed with The Lighthouse, having heard many good things. The set supper menu seemed like good value, but we decided to order from the standard “Bill of Fare” because there was only one fish main course on the set menu. When our nibbles arrived, we thought one of the dishes wasn’t what we’d ordered (we got smoked salmon on crostini rather than salmon mousse on sour dough toast) but didn’t make a fuss, since we thought I may have ordered the wrong thing. The bill later confirmed they had got it wrong. I pointed this out to our waitress, but she just said they have similar names and that they’d already told the kitchen it’s confusing, but offered no apology. Everything was cooked well and tasted fine, but the portion sizes were quite small considering the price. When paying 17.50 for six scallops, a bit more pea risotto would have been good, as would more than one prawn in the Thai fish soup (“an aromatic bowl of fresh fish and prawns”). If you want to try The Lighthouse, I’d recommend visiting Tuesday to Thursday and having the set supper menu so that you get better value for money.

We ordered take away from The Lighthouse this evening. The monkfish and Prawn Thai Curry was amazing, the turkey and sausage pie was delightful and our son hasn't stopped raving about the pizza. Cannot recommend this restaurant take away highly enough. Give these guys a call to get first class restaurant quality food in your own house

One of the best meals I have ever had. A lovely warm and welcoming restaurant with a great menu and very friendly staff. Service was excellent from all of the staff. Food is superb with a wide choice of all courses. For the mains you could choose to have a small or large portion of some dishes which is a great idea. I cannot wait to go again it was that good. Very highly recommended.
