What a find this place is. We had a sitting at 1pm on a Saturday and had the place to ourselves. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was great. 2 dishes were served lukewarm which was disappointing and hence not 5 stars, but wasn't sufficient to complain as everything was flavoursome and large portions. Seasoned chips were tasty. I had the pitmaster and couldn't quite manage it all. Be warned the ribs are not baby back ribs but monster things. My daughter couldn't manage a half rack when she usually devours a full rack of baby back ribs. My husband loves ribs and when offered beef ribs in place of pork was delighted. Whilst seemingly huge quite a lot was bone and fat but still very tasty. Overall we were very satisfied with Gallagher and wish we lived closer to take advantage of takeaway options. Support this independent business, they've only been running it a year and what a terrible year. Stop going to the big chains who don't pay tax in the UK and keep places like this alive.

From a vegetarian view this place is great. The owner looked after my husband and I very well, they cooked my husband's meal just the way he liked it and that's not very often that he gets what he asked for and for myself I had 4 lovely meals to choose from. I had veg Wellington and that was very yummy. The people r very welcoming and it was nice to see the owner working and Chatting to the customer's. The cocktails were very nice too, not many to choose from but very nice. This place is not very big so u would probably be best to book. Will definitely go here again and I would recommend to meat and none meat eaters

Beautiful night out with friends, craft beer and bitter from local Leigh Brewery. Amazing food especially the juicy pork ribs, thick and meaty, and the smoked beef brisket. Lovely friendly service and great atmosphere with the new decor.

Used to eat here every month or so the last couple of years and last weekend we thought we would give it a try again (haven't eaten here in about 8 months) and the booking process was very good and friendly and able to seat us on a Saturday evening which was strange as every other restaurant seemed to be fully booked . However we were disappointed with both the service and food once there though. Ribs very dry and hot dog very tough (like it had been sitting around for a while) and chips were not as they used to be. We had to wait a long time for drinks to be brought over so sat with an empty glasses for the whole time we had food in front of us even when reminding the waitress we ordered drinks 5/10 minutes ago which must have been forgotten about. Then asked for the bill and had to remind the waitress 2 or 3 times for this as well (10-15 minutes) then the bill was more than I expected but we just wanted to get out as was very warm in there and now getting late so couldn't be bothered to be in there any longer.
