Good food and coffee, and friendly staff who are willing to fulfill requests for drinks and sandwiches not on the menu. Bicycle servicing in store, and a nice little sun terrace out the back. Beware that it can fill up with mothers and babies since the cafe has room to park pushchairs!

Just popped in to Proper for 1st time and I'm very pleased I did! My gears weren't shifting properly and the Mechanic happily fixed them for me in no time, whilst offering some excellent advice on bike set up etc. Will definitely be back for a full service. Thank you. Highly recommended.
I have been known to cycle all the way from London to just get an espresso from these guys. So: lovely coffee (probably the nicest double espresso ever), great sandwiches, and excellent service. They also sell very nice casquettes. If their bike servicing is half as good as the coffee they sell then it will be fantastic.
Went to Proper to get some help removing my bottom bracket - quick, professional and friendly service. Would recommend The cakes and coffee looked excellent too and I shall be back to sample them in the near future! Many thanks
Excellent bike service, staff ex Shamans, really know their stuff. Great food and drinks from fabulous, friendly and helpful staff. And a group bike ride from 1 on Saturday arvo. The perfect cycle and coffee shop!!
