The atmosphere of the place was really nice and it was all at a good price. The only odd thing was a bizarrely Spanish menu that didn't fit with anything else in the pub and led to what was the only real disappointment of the night. When they had something that was a 'tortilla', it comes out as a quiche-like dish. Apparently a tortilla in Spain is akin to an omelette, not the burrito-like dish I was imagining, and something I probably wouldn't have ordered if I'd known as those kind of foods make me feel nauseous. I admit that it was slightly my fault, but I feel like it isn't common knowledge enough that it's entirely on me and should be something they clarify on their menu. A tortilla does not in fact involve any tortillas!

Really cosy atmosphere and very friendly staff. We had the Sunday lunch and went for the 28 day old beef which was superb. The portions were hearty and there was so many lovely trimmings too. It’s the perfect reward from a long walk in the South Downs

A mixed experience. We went for a roast, which was disappointing in terms of the cut of the meat, bland roast potatoes and unseasoned vegetables. That being said, the starters of the thai dish, soup and chorizo were really tasty. I'd recommend the wine in the photo. As always, the staff were friendly and attentive.

Properly lovely pub. We popped in at the end of an afternoon for some refreshment. Nice range of wines by the glass, Harvey's local ale and even some delicious tapas (which was a bonus). Staff were friendly and the tables well segregated. Really pleasant visit, thank you.

Excellent pub. Good choice of ales and the food is really good too. Nice atmosphere, coping weĺl in the current rules-heavy world that we live in. Pleasant staff.
