I went to the Great Orme Mines with my partner and 15 yr old daughter. We hardly queued, paid and chose our hard hats - there are different colours for children-, we watched a short video and made our way to the mines. The mines are amazing. They are dark and tight to walk through and there are amazing views inside. There also is a walkway and bridge where you can look round. There is also plenty of signs about what you are looking at. There is a gift shop on the way out selling a lot of nice items. We really enjoyed this place, but on hindsite I wish I had filmed us going into the mine from the beginning rather than just the end! Well recommended place to visit. 5 *****

A must if you're visiting Llandudno. You can get to it by walking, cable cars and driving. The carpark is free. Make sure you visit the toilets before going in to the museum as there are no toilets once you get past the desk to pay. Tickets cost 8 for adults and they take card too. The museum takes about an hour and it is self guided tour underground looking at the mines. It is really interesting and you learn a lot. Well worth a visit. Not suitable for very young children and not wheelchair/pushchair friendly. At the end there is a nice gift shop to look around.
Stopped on the way to our hotel and had a fun couple of hours. Very unique and interesting. Highly recommend a visit if your in the area
This place is a must do thing for everyone, amazing historical place to visit, young and old will enjoy the mines absolutely fantastic place to visit
Free parking at the mine and well signed from llandudno. Very steep drive up the Orme. No booking required and a one way system implemented for social distancing. The tour is self guided starting at a small museum describing the history of the site. The underground tour has plenty of child friendly information boards which our 7 year old enjoyed. As it has low head hight, safety hats are provided. ( All cleaned prior to use). The passage can be tight at places and wet underfoot as usual in a mine. More information boards on the outside exhibits. On exit there's a well stocked shop. Toilets are available in the car park. The site is dog friendly and can be taken with you underground. A must visit for the whole family. Admission charge - may be worth checking website for info. Well worth the 5 stars .
Brilliant history that I never new existed. Highly recommended.
Great activity for families! Adults enjoyed this as much as the kids. The mines are really fascinating and helped us keep the kids busy for a few hours. They have some fun facts and it is a nice walk through the mines. A little bit low and narrow but that is to be expected! Kids loved it and were so excited to be in a mine.
We went here with our 6 year old and 2 year old who both loved it! Great fun exploring the mines and a lovely little shop with lots of fossils and rocks to buy. Would definitely recommend!
