We have been coming to white sands for the last 20 years and it's just as beautiful as ever, no rubbish or litter and as quite as you like. Make sure you have a look at the rock pools on low tide :)
Absolutely worth the trek out. Peaceful and beautiful. I can see that it might get popular here at certain times of the year ...

Short & easy but moist walk to the beach but considering the time of year it's what you should expect. Lovely clean sand and stunningly clean rock pools, some with fish still in. Another gem in Scotland
A great place to watch the summer sunsets over the Small Isles
There’s a marked walk to this beautiful bay, we went early and got the beach to ourselves. So quiet and wildlife was great, water is so clear we could watch the seals swim underwater, also watched a Mink fishing. Want to totally unwind then go here! :)
