Nice place to visit from northern England or south west Scotland. Locally run ice rink, that's primarily a curling rink, but on a weekend, opens its doors for public skating sessions. Skate hire available with a range of figure and hockey style skates (depending on size required and availability). There is an on site cafe, but the prices are quite high. Food quality is ok. Nothing to write home about but it's not bad. There is a parent and tots session at 10-11, then under 16's 11-1pm, followed by an open session 1-3pm. Parents can skate on the under 16's session, but only to assist their children. There are also a small number of penguins and a snowman for hire to help beginners.

Have been before . What a super place. Watched a curling match . All ages taking part . Lounge area upstairs with great views over rink. Dark skies area so whilst at rink go behind and look at stars. People friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

This is a really nice ice rink. The place is quite old but it is well kept. There are hand rails at a good height for people who are not quite steady on their feet. They have penguins for young ones to hold onto while they are learning. We go to the early session on a Sunday morning where Louisa ( professional figure skater ) takes a small class for figure skating lessons. The staff are all very helpful. The place a has a cafe where you can get hot and cold food and sweets for the kids. The mural at the end of the rink is quite something too.

Good curling on this ice rink with skating at weekends. Cafe / bar on premises. Non members can play. Recommend.

It's a lovely ice rink run by the members always a friendly welcome. It's not a commercially run enterprise but a local easy going ice rink well run with no idiots spoiling your day.
