A river. A bridge. Walk along the water to the Swan restaurant. How could life be any better?
To me this is one of the best areas of London, as beautiful Thames offers its unique scenery, with all the passing boats and at this location, the pier is facing marvels of archigtecture such as Saint Paul's Cathedral. It it not just beautiful, it is convenient too. You can hop on a boat and move to another area of London, and this will be the fastest way unless you use an helicopter. If you like art as we do, you can go from Tate Modern to Tate Britain up West in a short time in a very enjoyable boat ride.
I had a wonderful time when I arrived at Bankside Pier twice yesterday between 11:24am-12:29pm and 3:36-4:07pm.
Bankside Pier is a stop for river services in London. It is located on the south bank of the river Thames, close to Tate Modern museum. Three services call at the pier: the river bus routes RB1 (between Embankment and Woolwich Arsenal) and RB2 (from here to St George Wharf Pier and Millbank Pier for the Tate Britain). The third service is the Circular Cruise Westminster which goes to Westminster via St Katherine's.
