Only good experiences from Bates. One of the few 'genuine' British hatters were you can get the 'experience'. I got my leather sweatband on my boater hat replaced with no hassle through Tom, a very kind and knowledgeable gent but it did take quite a lot of time but I was in no rush for it. A for this excellent hatter.
Fantastic hat shop. The top place to go for a very friendly and professional service. Tom helped me today. I found my Dad’s trilby (circa 50s/60s) when clearing out his wardrobe last week. He passed away in 1983. I found his trilby that I didn’t even know existed. I found Bates and Tom cleaned, steamed and reshaped the trilby to fit my head and now I can wear it with pride. To top it all Tom gave me a case to protect it and didn’t charge me a single penny. It’s made my day. Go to Bates, don’t go anywhere else. Thank you Tom and thank you Bates!
One of the finest shops in London to buy hats. Many choices from where to choose and a well range of prices. All, absolutely wonderful.
If you’re in London and you’d like to purchase a hat then highly recommend paying a visit. If you’re unable find a hat that you like then you probably don’t really like hats! Their new home doesn’t have the character of the previous premises but time marches on and all that.
