This is a charming old station. Take the circular stairwell to get an idea of how deep it is.

This station is a well run tube station, with staff always on site if you need any help in getting down to the platform from the street.
Nice location, friendly people
Such friendly members of staff, especially the cute guy with a beard, looks like a gentle bear but so funny and friendly I think his name is Sean or Shah. Station could do with an update, lifts are slow, but at the moment they're getting new lifts put in. Fellow commuters dont do themselves any favour by having a go at the staff when it's quite evident that when lift works are being done things might get a bit busy waiting for the lifts, just use stations on either sides if you cannot be bothered to wait for a lift.
A Leslie Green designed station (1907) with signature ox-blood faience exterior and featuring an unique enclosed forecourt. A WWII deep-level public bomb shelter (completed 1942) is situated underneath the station. Mark Wallinger’s labyrinth plate here numbered 179/270. Staff tinker about with professional intent. Runs smoothly.
